Business Development Director – Korean

Position summary

ACCV is seeking a high-caliber Business Development Director (Korean) with a strategic mindset, strong leadership, and an ambitious, results-driven ‘can-do’ attitude to spearhead growth in Vietnam’s fast-evolving green energy sector. This pivotal leadership role requires a native Korean speaker with fluent English proficiency and a proven track record in successfully delivering renewable energy projects to COD. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in navigating PPA/ELA and DPPA frameworks, forging strategic partnerships, and consistently surpassing ambitious sales targets. This candidate will play a critical role in expanding our footprint among Korean FDI clients while embodying collaboration, integrity, and innovation in a dynamic market.

Note: While this role is primarily focused on Korean clients, the position may be expanded to engage and serve other multinational blue-chip clients from the US, UK, EU and other key markets as the business grows.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Business Development

  • Lead the development and execution of targeted growth strategies for Korean FDI clients, aligning with ACCV’s strategic objectives.
  • Partner with the CEO and COO to drive market entry strategies, investment roadmaps, and Korean-focused innovations in rooftop solar, BESS, and renewable solutions.
  • Build and convert a robust pipeline by cultivating relationships with Korean manufacturers, industrial zones, KOTRA, KOCHAM, and key business associations.
  • Craft and deliver compelling commercial offers and Investment Committee (IC) Packs; lead high-stakes negotiations with Korean enterprise stakeholders.
  • Conduct proactive market scanning to identify, qualify, and prioritize new business opportunities through rigorous Go/No-Go analysis.

2. Sales & Relationship Management

  • Own and manage key accounts across diverse Korean enterprise sectors, including automotive, food, electronics, logistics, and manufacturing.
  • Lead the entire business development lifecycle from prospecting to deal closure, maintaining momentum across multiple stakeholders.
  • Provide nuanced, localized market insights to tailor solutions and strategically influence client decision-making.
  • Champion client satisfaction through hands-on engagement during project execution and post-commissioning support.

3. Market Positioning & Brand Advocacy

  • Serve as the Korean market ambassador for ACCV in Vietnam, enhancing brand visibility through industry events, associations, and thought leadership platforms.
  • Identify and secure participation in high-impact Korean trade shows, exhibitions, and public forums to elevate brand positioning.
  • Collaborate with internal marketing teams to ensure powerful, culturally resonant branding materials and event activations.

4. Operational Leadership & Reporting

  • Deliver regular, actionable updates to the CEO and Investment Committee, including sales forecasts, KPIs, pipeline status, and risk assessments.
  • Drive the establishment of scalable business development systems, optimizing internal workflows and knowledge management.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, legal, finance, and operations to ensure seamless, end-to-end project delivery.
Required skills and qualifications
  • Native Korean speaker with fluent English (spoken and written)
  • 8–10+ years of proven success in business development or project development within the renewable energy sector (Vietnam/Southeast Asia experience preferred)
  • Demonstrated achievement in delivering projects to COD milestones
  • In-depth knowledge of Vietnam’s energy market, DPPA regulations, permitting pathways, and policy landscape
  • Proven ability to close high-value deals, achieve or exceed aggressive sales targets, and nurture long-term client partnerships
  • Strong strategic thinking, negotiation, stakeholder engagement, and leadership skills
  • High integrity, collaborative mindset, and a demonstrated ability to work across cultures and functional teams

  • Background in energy, engineering, real estate, or industrial services targeting C&I sectors
  • Experience engaging with Investment Committees or Executive Boards
