We are currently recruiting a skilled and experienced Electrical Manager to join our dynamic team in the Northern region’s solar rooftop and renewable energy sectors. In this role, you will be pivotal in overseeing electrical design, installation, and maintenance activities for solar rooftop projects, ensuring their efficient and safe operation, and contributing to the advancement of renewable energy adoption
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with engineering teams and other departments to design electrical systems for rooftop solar projects, with a focus on the Northern region.
Ensure compliance with local codes, regulations, and industry standards.
Design and engineer commercial PV solar systems ranging from 100kW to 100MW.
Contribute to or write technical papers, and develop construction documents using AutoCAD and Sketchup.
Develop specifications, collect data, and complete utility interconnection and building permit applications.
Implement quality assurance processes to uphold high standards of workmanship.
Promote and enforce safety protocols to protect personnel and equipment during installation and maintenance activities.
Travel to project sites as needed to gather site-specific data and conduct roof surveys using total stations and other professional land surveying equipment.
Assess and analyze project sites using on-site data collection and network tools.
Perform site-specific production analysis of PV arrays using models such as PVsyst.
Evaluate existing electrical facilities and building systems including distribution equipment, premises wiring, and utility supply infrastructure to inform PV system designs.
Prepare system drawing sets in AutoCAD for bidding, permitting, and construction according to company design standards and methodology.
Plan the layout of electrical generation and delivery systems, including plants, distribution lines, and electrical stations and substations.
Identify and propose solutions for electrical system issues.
Manage a team of electrical technicians and contractors, providing guidance and support.
Maintain accurate records of electrical designs, installations, and maintenance activities.
Prepare regular progress reports and updates for project stakeholders.
Required skills and qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; At least 4-5 years of experience in a similar position
Priority is given to candidates residing in the Northern region.
Proven experience in designing and engineering electrical systems, particularly in solar PV projects.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Sketchup, and other relevant software for developing construction documents and technical drawings.
Strong knowledge of local electrical codes, regulations, and industry standards.
Experience in designing commercial PV solar systems ranging from 100kW to 100MW.
Ability to contribute to or write technical papers and reports.
Excellent project management skills with the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks effectively.
Experience in utility interconnection applications and building permit processes.
Experience in managing a team of electrical technicians and contractors, providing guidance and support.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify electrical system issues and propose effective solutions.
